Today marks the first day of the 11th National Inter-School Wushu Championships 2015 and the Martial House athletes have performed well by achieving a total of 5 Gold, 3 Silver, 3 Bronze and 4 3rd Runner-Up medals! Day 5 of the 11th National Primary Schools Wushu Championship 2015

IMG_3046 After a week of intense competition, we have finally reached the fifth day of the National Primary Schools Wushu Championship 2015! Before we take a short break, let’s take a look at how the Martial House students fared in today’s competition. Farewell, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew

Last evening, after the competition, Martial House staff headed to the People’s Association Headquarters (PA HQ) to pay respect to Singapore’s founding father, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. Mr. Lee has always been advocating about the importance of education in Singapore. Education not only in terms of academics, but moral and character as well. The Martial House team will always keep in mind the above statement made by Mr. Lee and will continue to be responsible for the learning and development of our students. Mr. Lee, rest in peace.

SPD Charity Show 2015

IMG_2762 Did you manage to catch Martial House Stars, Ho Lin Ying & Samuel Tan on the “live” telecast of the SPD Charity Show 2015 last night? Both Team Singapore athletes were involved in a performance together with MediaCorp artiste, Desmond Tan and SPD beneficiary, Samuel Lim. IMG_2767 The World Wushu Championships Gold & Silver medalists displayed a synchronized Taiji routine as Samuel Lim played a smooth music piece with the “guzheng”, a traditional Chinese instrument. IMG_2804 Following, as the music became more intense, Desmond Tan, one of the 8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill, made his appearance and executed a “nandao” routine which impressed the audiences! Credit goes to Martial House Coach Kevan Cheah for the choreography! LKY (1) Today marks the first day of the 11th National Primary Schools Wushu Championship 2015. However, the competition began on a low note as the participants and supporters observed a moment of silence to remember Singapore’s founding father, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, who passed away earlier this morning at 3.18am. IMG_2866 There was a total of 10 events today and the competition was definitely intense. Four students have done Martial House and their schools proud by attaining a Gold, a Silver, a Bronze & a 3rd Runner-Up! They are: 4-Duan Sword (Senior Boys): Ng Shinn (Ngee Ann Primary School) – Gold Sword (Junior Girls): Flavia Sim Xi Qin (Kong Hwa School) – Silver 4-Duan Sword (Junior Boys): Austin Chong Sze Ze (De La Salle School) – Bronze 4-Duan Sword (Junior Girls): Ng Yu Ninn (Haig Girls’ School) – 3rd Runner-Up Congratulations to the winners!
